"Germany is one of our important partners in achieving Indonesia's development objectives. Cooperation with Germany is crucial for mobilizing knowledge, technology, and finance," said Putut Hari Satyaka, an official of the Bappenas, in an official statement in Jakarta on Friday.
At the Indonesia-Germany Bilateral Consultation Meeting 2025, the Indonesian and German governments committed to strengthening cooperation that has a real impact, supporting Indonesia's economic transformation, and preparing for further negotiations in 2026.
Satyaka emphasized the importance of the forum in strengthening development relations between the two countries.
"The meeting is an important opportunity to align cooperation portfolios with medium-term national development priorities, while strengthening the foundation for more strategic collaboration going forward," he said.
Furthermore, the consultation meeting between the two countries also serves as a crucial opportunity to enhance institutional capacity, expand innovative financing, and ensure that every cooperation initiative contributes to achieving the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.
Meanwhile, Andreas Foerster, an official of the Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany, emphasized Indonesia’s central role in global transformation and in Southeast Asia, as it holds crucial resources for the development of global transformation.
The meeting focused on technical dialogue covering six priority areas of cooperation: digitalization, the circular economy, urban mobility, forestry, energy, and other issues, including the Innovative Development Fund (ID Fund) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
The national policy directions relevant to the collaboration included emphasizing strengthening food, water, and energy security, as well as developing a green and blue economy.
Leonardo Teguh Sambodo, an official of the Bappenas, highlighted Indonesia's steps in improving food quality and diversification, conserving water resources, modernizing agroforestry, and utilizing high-value forest products.
Furthermore, the expansion of low-carbon and renewable energy policies to accelerate energy transition efforts was also highlighted.
"Through the collaboration, we will continue to expand our energy mix with renewable energy, for the benefit of our industry and to promote it," Sambodo said.
