“Since the second day, we have deployed six Tagana personnel along with equipment to operate the public kitchen for victims in Aceh Tamiang District,” East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa said in Banda Aceh on Saturday.
She delivered the statement during the handover of assistance from the East Java government and community to flood and landslide victims in Aceh, received by Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir at the Aceh Hydrometeorological Disaster Emergency Response Command Post.
The governor explained that the public kitchen represents East Java’s solidarity with the people of Aceh who are experiencing floods and landslides.
In addition to the public kitchen, the provincial government is also prepared to deploy medical personnel to support post-disaster health services.
“Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), we have many specialist doctors ready to assist the victims, and they will be mobilized to Aceh,” she said.
Khofifah requested the Aceh Government to list its medical personnel needs, including specialists. “Once the data is available, we are ready to meet the needs so that health services in the affected areas can run optimally,” she added.
Aid from East Java includes financial assistance worth IDR 3 billion and goods valued at IDR 895 million, along with additional support.
