"I came here today to meet, observe the situation, and hear directly from the district head, deputy district head, and community leaders about how we can accelerate the recovery efforts," Prabowo said, as released by the Presidential Media Team.
The president highlighted a commitment to rapidly accelerate the post-flood recovery and ensure that residents’ needs are met immediately.
His Friday visit was part of the government's series of agendas to evaluate the situation in several areas recently affected by natural disasters.
Prabowo stated that despite the challenging conditions on the ground, the government remains determined to continue its efforts.
"The situation is quite difficult and concerning, but believe me, you are not alone. We are all determined to work hard to help alleviate the difficulties faced by all of you," Prabowo reassured the residents.
Before continuing his journey to other areas, Prabowo concluded his visit with a prayer for the safety of the residents. He also promised that the government would continue to send aid.
"I encourage everyone to be patient. God willing, we can quickly restore the situation for the better," he said.
