“UMKM are not only a celebration of creativity and entrepreneurship, but also a concrete step to strengthen the national economy through empowerment programs and the creative economy,” Harsya said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
While opening the UMKM Mitra Adhyaksa Festival and Launching event in Lampung, he emphasized that MSMEs are the backbone of Indonesia’s economy. At the same time, the creative economy sector has grown into a new engine of national economic growth, rapidly developing across regions.
He explained that the creative economy stems from creativity combined with innovation and technology, and is deeply rooted in culture.
According to him, the creative economy, when combined with technology, aligns with the third point of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita missions, which aims to create quality jobs through entrepreneurship and the creative industry.
Through the UMKM Mitra Adhyaksa program, small business actors gain access to regulatory consultations, simplified licensing, preventive legal assistance, and mentoring that supports a safe and sustainable business climate.
The program also aims to boost the confidence of creative economy players in running and developing their businesses. By the first semester of 2025, creative economy investment had reached 66 percent of its target, contributing around 9 percent to total national investment realization.
Meanwhile, creative economy exports in October 2025 had nearly reached 100 percent of the annual target, accounting for approximately 13 percent of total non-oil and gas exports. Its contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024 was recorded at more than Rp1,500 trillion, or around 7 percent of national GDP.
