"The Public Works Ministry has estimated an allocation of around Rp51 trillion for rebuilding basic infrastructure, primarily roads, bridges, and clean water facilities," Yudhoyono, widely known as AHY, said.
He added that repairing basic infrastructure, particularly roads, is a top priority, as land access is critical for distributing logistics and transporting heavy equipment.
"Without transportation routes, no matter how large the logistical or humanitarian aid, it will be difficult to distribute it quickly, when speed should be the top priority," he explained.
AHY said his office is currently collecting data on houses damaged or destroyed by floods and landslides.
He said around 112,000 houses were damaged or lost in the disasters.
"The categories include light, moderate, and severe damage, as well as houses that were swept away or lost," he added.
He urged relevant ministries to map damage levels, noting that repair costs vary by category.
AHY said the government is working to restore infrastructure and repair thousands of damaged homes, including through collaboration with the Army's bridge task force, which has built several emergency bridges in affected areas.
"We continue to strengthen synergy and collaboration so that ministries, the military, and the police can work effectively in the field," he said.
He expressed hope that strong inter-agency coordination would accelerate post-disaster recovery and urged public support for the government’s restoration efforts.
