The Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), Wahyudi Anas, on Monday, noted that the ships are mobilizing personnel to assist with recovery efforts in disaster areas and transport disaster relief, vehicles, and necessities.
"President Prabowo Subianto and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, had instructed immediate efforts to restore disaster-affected areas," Anas said.
His office has approved the request of the Director General of Sea Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation regarding the addition of a fuel delivery point for the KM Egon, owned by PT Pelni (Persero).
The KM Egon's regular routes are Waingapu-Lembar-Surabaya-Batulicin-Pare Pare-Bontang, and vice versa.
Meanwhile, to support recovery in disaster areas, the KM Egon made an adjustment in its route to Waingapu-Lembar-Surabaya-Tanjung Priok-Belawan-Lhokseumawe-Padang-Tanjung Priok-Surabaya.
"KM Egon's diesel fuel delivery points can now be found at the Surabaya Integrated Terminal and Jakarta Integrated Terminal, whereas previously it was only available at the Surabaya Integrated Terminal," Anas remarked.
In addition, BPH Migas has also approved the request from the Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation to add fuel delivery points for the KMP Jatra I, owned by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry.
The KMP Jatra I transports relief supplies through several ports in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, to more effectively reach disaster-affected areas, with the route of Surabaya-Jakarta-Belawan-Aceh-Sibolga-Teluk Bayur.
The request for additional delivery points is due to the KMP Jatra I's limited fuel tank capacity of 67 kiloliters (kl).
BPH Migas also requested the Directorate General of Land Transportation to participate in overseeing the distribution of diesel fuel to all river, lake, and ferry vessels in accordance with applicable regulations.
"Through this collaboration, we hope the mobilization of personnel, aid, vehicles, and logistics can reach affected communities more quickly, while accelerating the recovery process in disaster areas," Anas stated.
