Danantara’s Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria officially flagged off the disaster response volunteers, deployed by multiple state-owned enterprises (SOEs), at Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang District, North Sumatra, on Friday.
In addition to personnel, the agency dispatched more than 100 vehicles carrying a wide range of urgently needed goods and equipment for disaster-affected regions, including groceries, clean water, and fuel.
Oskaria, who also chairs the SOE Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN), expressed his appreciation for all SOE employees who have been working tirelessly to support the government's ongoing efforts to ease the burden on disaster victims in the three provinces.
"Hopefully, all your efforts will deliver tangible benefits to those affected by the disaster," he said.
The official emphasized that all SOEs must remain ready to mobilize their resources to assist the public, as they are essentially owned by the people. He urged SOE employees to keep this perspective in mind.
Furthermore, he said that since the disasters first struck, he had reminded all directors of SOEs that their companies share the responsibility to serve the nation.
"That said, I encourage all SOE volunteers to help our brothers and sisters affected by the disasters and provide the best possible solutions to their situation," Oskaria told the volunteers.
He added that President Prabowo Subianto has urged volunteers and all disaster response personnel to exert their best efforts while on duty in Sumatra, extending a hand to those in need.
"To all volunteers, it is crucial that you maintain proper attitude and behavior in the field. Let us give our best to the people," he remarked.
