The inspections targeted high-traffic public areas and religious landmarks, including the Jakarta Cathedral, the Gambir central railway station, and the iconic National Monument (Monas).
Security posts at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout, a major city landmark and traditional gathering spot, were also reviewed.
The inspections are part of a nationwide security campaign known as "Operasi Lilin 2025" (Operation Candle), a standard annual mobilization of police and military personnel to secure the country’s year-end festivities.
Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the operation's public relations head, stated that the inspections were vital to verify that all on-site personnel and equipment are fully prepared.
"The Indonesian Police are committed to providing safety and security for residents celebrating Christmas or enjoying their year-end holidays," Brigadier General Andiko said.
The delegation, led by Inspector General Mulia Hasundungan Ritonga, focused on coordination between law enforcement and local administrators.
Officers met with church administrators at the Jakarta Cathedral to provide security assurances and discuss crowd management for upcoming services.
At Gambir Station, police collaborated with railway officials to review safety protocols for the anticipated surge in travelers during the holiday week.
Following the field visits, officials confirmed that all monitored locations are currently secure and that personnel are fully deployed.
The police reaffirmed their broader commitment to preventive measures, ensuring that both the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations remain peaceful for both locals and international visitors.
