Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday that the security force comprises 4,217 personnel from the National Police (Polri), 394 troops from the Jakarta Military Command (Kodam Jaya), and 433 personnel from the Jakarta Provincial Government.
He said security measures have also been intensified at places of worship, particularly churches classified as high-priority locations. Enhanced security has been implemented at 14 churches across Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and Bekasi.
“This morning, we carried out inspections at several churches, including Jakarta Cathedral and Immanuel Church. We ensured that all personnel are prepared, facilities and infrastructure are in place, and security operations are running according to plan,” Suheri said.
The Metro Jaya Police have also set up a security post at Gambir Station to ensure passenger safety and service readiness amid an expected increase in train travel during the year-end holiday period.
In addition, a security post has been established at the Cikunir Interchange at Kilometer 10, located on the border between East Jakarta and Bekasi, to monitor vehicles entering and leaving the Greater Jakarta area and to anticipate heightened public mobility during the holidays.
“Based on data from the past three days, 477,321 vehicles have exited the Jakarta area,” Suheri said.
The Metro Jaya Police reaffirmed their commitment to providing optimal services to ensure that the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 celebrations proceed safely, orderly, and smoothly.
“The Polri 110 call center service remains available around the clock to assist the public,” Suheri added.
