Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman made the statement on Monday to clarify foreign media reports quoting Bonnie Blue as saying she was banned for only six months.
"(We are banning her for) 10 years, not six months as stated in the video," Yusman said.
He explained that Bali's Class I Special Immigration Office at Ngurah Rai Immigration Checkpoint imposed the 10-year ban on December 12.
The sanction was issued over violations of the law and misuse of a stay permit during her visit to Bali, Yusman said.
The case emerged following public concern over the activities of Bonnie Blue and dozens of foreign nationals, which authorities said disturbed public order.
Bonnie Blue and dozens of other foreigners were arrested by the Badung Police on December 4 at a studio in the Pererenan area, on suspicion of producing pornographic content.
Police later said that although evidence showed the existence of an adult video, it did not meet the elements of a criminal offense because it was made for personal documentation and not for distribution.
However, authorities proceeded with legal action against the foreigners for alleged traffic violations.
Bonnie Blue, who was arrested along with three other foreign nationals identified by their initials LAJ (27), INL (24) and JJT (28), was using a pickup truck bearing the words "Bonnie Blue's Bangbus" while travelling around Bali to create content.
In a misdemeanor trial, the Denpasar District Court found Bonnie Blue and LAJ guilty of violating Article 303 in conjunction with Article 137 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transportation.
From an immigration perspective, Yusman said that although the pornography allegations were unproven, Bonnie Blue and the others entered Indonesia on visitor visas on arrival that were used to produce commercial content.
"Therefore, we are imposing a 10-year ban because these activities are inconsistent with the government's efforts to maintain Bali's quality tourism image and respect local cultural values," he said.
