The Bali Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said the evacuation took place in a trench on a street in Tibubeneng Village, Badung District, where the victim had become trapped.
Basarnas Bali head I Nyoman Sidakarya said the victim's identity has not yet been confirmed, as no identification was found. The body was taken to RSUP Prof. Ngoerah Hospital for further examination.
He said his office received a report of the incident at 8:05 a.m. local time and immediately dispatched personnel from its Jimbaran office.
"Five personnel were assigned to the evacuation. According to reports, the victim was trapped below and caught on a pipe," Sidakarya said.
He said floodwaters at the site had reached approximately waist height for an adult.
"Continuous rainfall caused water levels to rise, so the SAR team, together with local residents, worked swiftly to evacuate the victim," he added.
The body was found wearing black pants and no top, and was transported to the hospital at 10:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, the Regional Office of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BBMKG) urged the public to remain alert to extreme weather in Bali following the emergence of Tropical Cyclone Seed 93S from December 11 to 18.
The agency mapped areas at risk of moderate to heavy rainfall and strong winds in Badung, Denpasar, Tabanan, Jembrana, Bangli, Gianyar, Karangasem, Klungkung, and Buleleng.
The regions are vulnerable to flooding, flash floods, and landslides, depending on local conditions.
