Minister Brian Yuliarto said the initiative will guide higher education and vocational campuses to design curricula tailored to international job demands, strengthen foreign language proficiency, and provide certification to ensure graduates meet global standards.
The program will use data from the Ministry of the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) to map required skills and connect qualified graduates with overseas opportunities.
“Once these high-quality talents have met the necessary qualifications and possess adequate language proficiency, we will connect them with the P2MI Ministry through relevant data,” Yuliarto explained
The government expects the strategy to boost Indonesia’s competitiveness by producing workers on par with global talent.
P2MI Minister Mukhtarudin emphasized that the partnership between the two ministries aims to close the gap between university output and international labor market needs, while also ensuring that skilled graduates contribute to the domestic workforce.
“The state, in principle, is committed to producing high-quality human resources that will meet public needs,” he said.
Mukhtarudin clarified that while the government is determined to supply more skilled workers abroad, it remains equally committed to nurturing quality talent for the domestic labor market.
