Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/National Land Agency (BPN) would continued to provide land services to the public during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Dalu Agung Darmawan, stated in Jakarta on Wednesday that the policy is stipulated in a land services circular issued by the ministry.

He explained that long holiday periods are often used by people to return to their hometowns and address land-related matters.

“When people return to their hometowns, they often discuss assets, inheritance distribution, land certificate status, or unregistered land. That is why we are using the Christmas–New Year holiday period to improve the quality and sustainability of land services,” Darmawan said.

Land offices will continue to provide at least three types of services during the holiday period. These include providing information on land administration, accepting registrations for data maintenance, and delivering completed service products such as land certificates.

The services will be available on December 25–26, 2025, and January 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time.

“Land offices have arranged schedules to ensure that these three services continue to operate during the holiday period. We have done this during previous religious holidays, and it has proven to provide access for the public,” he said.

Furthermore, the holiday period is also seen as an opportunity to raise public awareness about protecting and managing land assets, particularly for owners who live outside the location of their land.

He stressed the importance of maintaining land boundaries, using land responsibly, or entrusting it to reliable parties to prevent misuse.

Darmawan also noted that the holiday services will support data updating and digitization efforts.

“Now that services are electronic-based, media conversion and data updates can also be carried out,” he said.

Regarding coverage, Darmawan emphasized that all land offices across Indonesia will remain open during the Christmas and New Year holidays, not only those in major cities.

Service implementation will be monitored by heads of provincial BPN regional offices, who will compile reports from land offices to ensure smooth operations.

“As during the recent Eid al-Fitr holiday, regional office heads are ensuring that services continue to operate. This is especially important as there is still work to be completed and backlogs to be cleared toward the end of the year,” he said.

He also encouraged the public to make use of the services provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).

“If you need information, registration services, or wish to collect service products that you were unable to access on working days, please visit the land office. Essentially, ATR/BPN aims to be closer to the public and make time available for them,” Darmawan said.
