“The distribution of MBG meals continues as on regular days. The total accumulated aid distributed in Aceh has now reached more than 2.2 million portions,” BGN Head Dadan Hindayana said in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday.
In Aceh Province, 158 Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), or MBG kitchens, have been involved in adjusting their services during the emergency response period. A total of 2,298,670 meals were distributed between November 26 and December 27, 2025.
Hindayana added that the service units did not operate on only two days, namely Christmas Day on December 25 and the commemoration of the 21st anniversary of the Aceh Tsunami on December 26.
However, MBG kitchens in East Aceh and Central Aceh chose to continue distributing meals on December 26 and 27. BGN has ensured that meal assistance continues to reach affected residents through various distribution schemes.
“We continue to distribute aid to flood and landslide victims, both through command posts and via direct delivery to communities,” he said.
He highlighted that BGN’s consistent presence during the emergency situation demonstrates the state’s commitment to safeguarding public nutrition, while reinforcing the MBG program’s capacity to adapt during crises.
The free meals program was launched on January 6, 2025, as one of President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship initiatives, aimed at improving the nutritional status of children under five, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and schoolchildren up to the high school level.
Targeting 82.9 million beneficiaries nationwide, the program is among the largest social initiatives ever implemented in Indonesia.
