Wamena (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is scheduled to begin an official visit to Wamena, Jayawijaya District, Highland Papua Province, on Tuesday, according to the local police.

Chief of the Jayawijaya Resort Police, AKBP Anak Agung Made Satriya Bimantara, stated that Vice President Gibran will stay in Jayawijaya for two days as part of his official agenda after concluding activities in Biak Numfor District, Papua Province.

"Based on the information we received, the vice president will spend two days in Wamena. He is set to arrive on Tuesday to visit several locations and stay overnight. The following day, he will visit more sites before returning to Jakarta," he said.

Bimantara emphasized that the Jayawijaya police have prepared around 453 personnel, including members of the Mobile Brigade Corps, to maintain order and security before and during the vice president’s visit.

"We have also been coordinating with colleagues in the military, district and provincial governments, and local leaders to take the necessary measures to ensure a smooth working visit by the vice president," he stated.

The police officer confirmed that the public security and order situation in Jayawijaya, the provincial capital, remains conducive ahead of Gibran’s arrival.

"All community activities are proceeding normally," he added.

He also urged local residents to support efforts to maintain security so that the planned visit can proceed smoothly.
