Head of the West Papua Health Office, Dr. Alwan Rimosan, said intensified outreach is urgently needed in the province, given the low number of residents who have benefited from the national program so far.
“Out of more than 500,000 people in West Papua, only about 40,000 have accessed CKG services. In Manokwari District, only around 10,000 of nearly 200,000 residents have participated in the program,” he said in Manokwari on Saturday.
To address the low participation rate, Rimosan said the West Papua Health Office has begun integrating the CKG program into various social and religious activities.
As an example, he cited the commemoration of Isra Mikraj of the Prophet Muhammad at Ridwanul Bahri Mosque in Manokwari, where residents took part in a blood donation drive that also provided CKG services on Saturday.
Rimosan emphasized that beyond being a routine activity, CKG is one of President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship quick-win programs. He underscored the importance of synergy among all elements of society to ensure the program delivers its intended benefits.
“With that in mind, we will continue collaborating with houses of worship and other community gathering places to expand the reach of the CKG program,” he said.
He added that stronger outreach is needed to raise public awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health reported that the program had reached 70.8 million people, or 24.9 percent of the population, since its launch on February 10 last year.
The health screening services—covering mental health, dental care, tuberculosis, leprosy, and cancer—were initially offered at community health centers for the general public and later expanded to schools starting August 4, 2025. This year, the government is targeting coverage of 46 percent of the population.
