Trump launched the Gaza Board of Peace at Congress Hall, the venue for the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday afternoon.
During the ceremony, Prabowo signed the Board of Peace Charter with Trump, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and leaders of other member states.
"I think this is a historic opportunity to achieve peace in Gaza," Prabowo said in response to reporters' questions after attending the Board of Peace launch in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday.
"Most importantly, the suffering of the people in Gaza has decreased, significantly. Humanitarian aid has been coming as well. I have great hope, and Indonesia is ready to participate," he continued.
According to Prabowo, the countries joining the board are those who want to help the Palestinian people in Gaza, and also those who are longing for peace in the region.
"Those who want peace, help the people of Gaza and the Palestinian people (are there)," the head of state remarked.
Besides Indonesia, other countries signing the Board of Peace Charter include Hungary, Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kosovo, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Uzbekistan.
At the event, Trump began with remarks explaining the purpose of establishing the Board of Peace.
He then, along with several world leaders, signed the Board of Peace Charter, officially establishing the organization.
Following this, two US officials outlined recovery plans for Gaza, including plans to develop it as a business hub. The US promised jobs and prosperity for the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Then, Trump delivered his closing remarks, and the event concluded.
On his way off the stage, Trump shook hands with President Prabowo, and the two exchanged brief words.
