Jakarta (ANTARA) - Foreign Minister Sugiono stated that Indonesia's participation in the Board of Peace for Gaza signals the recognition of Indonesia's role and vision for peace in Palestine by the global community.

"Our participation means that the world recognizes Indonesia's diplomacy, as well as Indonesia's vision and views for world peace and, in particular, the region's peace," Sugiono stated in a video broadcast on social media, Friday.

He explained that as President Prabowo Subianto and other world leaders, including United States President Donald Trump, signed the Board of Peace, the organization has officially been established as an international body.

The organization will work to supervise administration, security, and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip, conducted in several phases, the top diplomat noted.

The Board of Peace will also work to supervise the provisional authority in Palestine, which will conduct administrative functions in Gaza, he added.

"Participation in the Board of Peace is the realization of Indonesia's strategic, constructive, and tangible steps to support Palestinian independence," Sugiono stressed.

The foreign minister said that the Rafah border crossing will reopen for humanitarian aid supply and that the International Stabilization Force (ISF) will soon be established to maintain peace in Gaza.

Sugiono emphasized that participation in the Board of Peace is also consistent with Indonesia's staunch support for the Palestinian cause and its people, which it has displayed on international levels for years.

"The Board of Peace is a concrete alternative that we can rely on in our efforts to achieve the goal," he remarked.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto described the Board of Peace for Gaza as a "historical opportunity" to achieve peace in Gaza, and Indonesia reiterated its commitment to participate in the mission for the good of the Palestinian people.

He also affirmed that countries joining the Board of Peace have a sincere intention to help the Palestinian people who yearn for peace in Gaza.

Besides Indonesia and the United States, other countries that signed the Board of Peace declaration include Hungary, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.
