Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, Juliantono said that as of January this year, as many as 27,191 Red and White Co-ops are under construction. The physical development of the cooperatives, along with warehouses and supporting equipment, is projected to be completed in March or by April 2026 at the latest.
He explained that in addition to physical buildings, the readiness of supervisors, management, and cooperative management information systems is also being prepared so that the cooperatives can operate immediately after the physical development is completed.
“God willing, by March or at the latest April, the physical buildings, warehouses, and supporting equipment will be completed,” he said.
He targets that the number will continue to increase to reach 80 thousand units by the end of the year, in line with the President’s directive.
He added that the 27 thousand cooperatives currently under construction will serve as the first phase of the target to build 80 thousand cooperatives, which will soon undergo operational trials.
The 80 thousand Red and White Village Co-ops program was officially launched by President Prabowo Subianto in July 2025.
It is expected that these cooperatives can serve as a driving force for the village economy, strengthen community self-reliance, and at the same time realize equitable national economic development.
Funding for the program comes from the state budget (APBN), regional budgets (APBD), village funds, as well as support from state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
Each cooperative unit will receive a ceiling of Rp3 billion, with Rp2.5 billion allocated for capital expenditure (capex) in the form of physical development and operational equipment, while the remaining Rp500 million is allocated for operational expenditure (opex).
