“The repatriation marks the fourth batch of evacuations from the Myawaddy region, following the third batch carried out on January 21–22, 2026,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, confirming their arrival on Friday morning.
The repatriation was conducted following intensive coordination by Indonesian embassies in Yangon and Bangkok with the local authorities, the ministry noted.
The ministry also coordinated with the Migrant Workers Protection Ministry, Social Affairs Ministry, Financial Transaction Report and Analysis Center (PPATK), the police and the immigration authorities for law enforcement and preventive action purposes.
According to the ministry statement, some of the repatriated Indonesians agreed to cooperate with law enforcers to report and testify against their alleged agents who made them work in Myanmar online scam syndicates.
The Foreign Ministry also urged residents, especially those seeking new opportunities abroad, to comply with official procedures and abide by prevailing rules and regulations either in Indonesia and while working overseas.
With the arrival of the fourth batch in Indonesia, a total of 291 Indonesians have been rescued from Myanmar online scam gangs and repatriated so far.
The ministry recorded two repatriation batches in December 2025. The first batch, comprising 56 Indonesians, returned to Jakarta on December 9, while the second batch, consisting of 54 Indonesians, arrived on December 13.
Meanwhile, during the third batch, which arrived in January 22, 2026, some 90 Indonesian nationals were repatriated.
