The engagement was formalized with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between PT Danantara Investment Management (DIM) and PIF’s Rua Al Madinah Holding during the PIF Private Sector Forum 2025, held on February 9–10 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In a statement cited here on Wednesday, DIM Managing Director for Finance Djamal Attamimi said the MoU reflects Danantara’s ongoing efforts to build a foundation for long-term improvements in pilgrimage services.
“Beyond a mere project, our engagement serves as a national endeavor toward making pilgrimage services more integrated and enabling enduring enhancements across generations,” he remarked.
He referred to Indonesia’s plan to develop a dedicated Hajj complex in Saudi Arabia, describing it as a strategic measure to foster an integrated ecosystem for pilgrimage rituals, health services, protection, assistance, and operational support.
“Danantara is present as a catalyst working to ensure that infrastructure and services for pilgrims are managed professionally and transparently, with orientation toward continuity,” Attamimi affirmed.
He added that Danantara views cooperation with Rua Al Madinah, known as a property developer, as essential for Indonesia, with the largest number of Hajj pilgrims, to address both current and future needs in pilgrimage services.
“Public trust, particularly from pilgrims, is the foundation. Hence, each of our plans is directed toward better services, reliable governance, and long-term tangible benefits for Indonesian pilgrims,” he concluded.
In the same statement, Rua Al Madinah Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Al Juhani described the MoU with Danantara as a crucial step toward expanding investment partnerships and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
He said the holding looks forward to collaborating with foreign partners, including Danantara, to support its strategic projects.
