Indonesia's sovereign wealth manager Danantara plans to invest Rp202.4 trillion (US$13.1 billion) in four priority projects in 2026, CEO Rosan Roeslani said on Friday, outlining plans spanning waste-to-energy, data centers, chemicals, and agriculture.
The projects, named Wamena, Cordova, Fukuoka, and Johor, were unveiled at the Indonesia Economic Outlook 2026 forum at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta.
"These include downstream projects, waste-to-energy facilities, caustic soda plants, data center development, global platform partnerships, and investments in Australia,” Rosan said, outlining the fund’s strategic investment priorities.
The Wamena project will develop waste-to-energy facilities across 33 cities with an investment of Rp84 trillion, targeting a tenfold multiplier effect to support sustainable urban development.
The Cordova project will invest Rp13.4 trillion in caustic soda facilities to strengthen industrial downstreaming, with a targeted fivefold multiplier effect.
The Fukuoka project will allocate Rp21 trillion to develop a data center platform with global operators, aiming for a sixfold multiplier effect to accelerate digital infrastructure.
The Johor project will channel Rp84 trillion into agriculture investments, targeting a twofold multiplier effect to boost food security and job creation.
On Feb. 6, Danantara broke ground on six phase-one downstream projects worth US$7 billion, or about Rp110 trillion, across 13 regions nationwide, Rosan said.
The initial phase includes two bauxite downstream projects valued at about US$3 billion, along with biojet fuel, bioethanol, salt industry development, and integrated poultry farming.
Rosan said the investments are expected to spur national and regional economic growth, expand employment, and strengthen Indonesia’s industrial and economic resilience.
