Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday for talks with US business leaders, a Gaza peace summit and a planned bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump.

Prabowo landed at about 12 p.m. local time after a Garuda Indonesia PK-GIF aircraft touched down at Joint Base Andrews in Prince George’s County, Md.

He was welcomed near the aircraft stairs by Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, and Indonesian Defense Attaché Air Marshal E. Wisoko Aribowo.

During his US visit, Prabowo is scheduled to meet American business groups on Wednesday, attend the inaugural Gaza Board of Peace summit on Thursday and hold bilateral talks with Trump.

One item on the agenda is the signing of an agreement on reciprocal trade, or ART, with negotiations underway since 2025, according to Indonesian officials.

On the flight from Jakarta, Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.

After disembarking, Prabowo, wearing his trademark black peci cap, greeted officials in sequence, starting with the Indonesian ambassador, followed by the US Air Force commander and Indonesia’s defense attaché.

He then entered the presidential vehicle under escort from Indonesia’s Presidential Security Detail, known as Paspampres, and members of the US Secret Service.

Prabowo and his delegation proceeded from Joint Base Andrews to a hotel in downtown Washington.

The inaugural Board of Peace summit on Gaza is set to be led by President Trump, the initiative’s originator.

White House officials last week said the Board of Peace summit was scheduled for Feb. 19, 2026, in Washington.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has also confirmed his attendance at the inaugural Board of Peace summit.

Indonesia formally joined the Board of Peace after Prabowo signed its founding charter during the launch event in Davos, Switzerland, on Jan. 22, 2026.

Other signatories include the United States as initiator, Hungary, Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.
