The verdict for the two defendants was read by Judge Wayan Suarta at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, on Monday.
The judge found the defendants legally and convincingly proven guilty of premeditated murder as stipulated in the Criminal Code and are punishable by violating Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
They were also found guilty of violating Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 17 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
Along with Article 306 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, as stated in the cumulative indictment of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) from the Badung District Attorney's Office.
"Sentencing the defendants Mevlut Coskun and Paea-I-Middlemore Tupou each with 16 years in prison," the judge said.
This sentence is two years shorter than the 18-year prison sentence demanded by the Badung District Attorney's Office.
According to the judge, the defendants and Darcy Francesco Jenson (separate case file) had systematically planned the shooting.
The judge found that the defendants carried out the shooting, leading to the death of Zivan Radmanovic and the injuries to witness Sanar Ghanim.
Furthermore, an unidentified person paid for the tickets, villa rental, and weapons, and also issued the order to shoot the victim. The person’s identity is still unknown.
The defendants were given seven days to appeal the verdict or accept it.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, defendant Darcy Francesco Jenson was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
The judge found Jenson guilty of assisting the other two defendants by arranging accommodation, pick-up, and transportation.
Previously, a brutal shooting, allegedly carried out by an Australian gangster, took place in Munggu Village, Badung District, Bali, on June 14, 2025.
The incident killed Zivan Radmanovic, while Sanar Ghanim was injured. The shooting was witnessed by GJ, the wife of victim Radmanovic, and Ghanim's wife, Daniela. Radmanovic was shot in the bathroom, while Ghanim was shot in his bedroom.
