Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has instructed relevant ministries to review the distribution of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr religious holiday allowance, known as THR, to ensure workers receive the payments on time.

Speaking at a plenary cabinet meeting on Eid readiness at the Presidential Palace on Friday, Prabowo also ordered officials to ensure the allowances are delivered in accordance with existing regulations.

“Ministers of Manpower, Finance and Investment, please ensure the holiday allowance for all central and regional civil servants is implemented on time,” the president said.

Under Indonesian regulations, employers must pay the THR to workers no later than seven days before the religious holiday, commonly referred to as D-7.

The allowance is traditionally paid ahead of Eid al-Fitr and is intended to help workers cover expenses related to the major Islamic holiday.

In addition to civil servants and private-sector workers, the president also announced that online transportation drivers would receive a holiday bonus for the 2026 Eid season.

According to the government, the Eid bonus for ride-hailing drivers will range from 400,000 rupiah to 1.6 million rupiah per person.

Prabowo welcomed the initiative, saying it marked the first time drivers in the online transportation sector would receive a dedicated holiday bonus.

“The holiday bonus for workers in the online transportation sector must reach them, with amounts between Rp400,000 and Rp1.6 million per person,” he said.

The policy reflects the government’s recognition of the role played by digital-economy workers, particularly ride-hailing drivers who support daily mobility in cities across Indonesia.
