Jakarta (ANTARA) - Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni met with all national parks and nature tourism parks to ensure readiness for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, while highlighting President Prabowo Subianto’s directives on “zero waste and zero accident.”

According to a statement received here on Wednesday, the minister, during an online meeting with 57 National Parks and 145 Nature Tourism Parks, said that President Prabowo has paid special attention to information readiness and services in those areas during the holidays.

“President Prabowo has instructed me (to check) regarding the availability of information in national parks and national tourism parks during the holiday, as there is demand from the public wishing to visit national parks and nature tourism parks during the Eid holiday,” Antoni said.

He continued, "The President has also urged that national park management prioritize zero waste, provide sufficient trash bins and personnel, and promote zero accidents by ensuring no casualties due to inadequate safety facilities, including preparing medical teams, ambulances, and adequate health centers."

Referring to the president’s directives, the minister emphasized that conservation area management must prioritize the zero waste principle. This includes providing adequate waste facilities and sufficient cleaning personnel to preserve the environment.

In addition, the zero accident principle is also a priority, by ensuring the readiness of safety facilities such as medical teams, ambulances, health centers, and clear signage at every tourist site.

He also underscored the importance of controlling visitor numbers in accordance with the carrying capacity of each area to prevent overcrowding that could pose safety risks and environmental damage.

“Ensure that visitors do not exceed the established quota to avoid surpassing the area’s capacity,” he said.
