BGN Deputy Head for Public Communication and Investigation Nanik Sudaryati Deyang said in Jakarta on Thursday that 1,528 SPPGs or MBG kitchens nationwide remained suspended as of March 25, based on accumulated data since January 2025.
She said the number shows a decline from two weeks earlier as more operators have registered for hygiene and sanitation certification (SLHS).
"Many have now registered for SLHS after being suspended," she said.
Two weeks ago, the number of affected SPPGs was higher, particularly in Java, which recorded more than 1,500 units, while eastern Indonesia had 779 and western Indonesia 492.
Nanik said the suspension policy mainly targets SPPGs that have not registered for SLHS, but many have since complied with the requirement.
BGN said the temporary suspension aims to ensure nutrition service standards, particularly hygiene and sanitation, are maintained.
The agency also categorized suspensions into cases involving significant incidents, such as digestive problems among beneficiaries, and non-significant issues, such as non-compliance with technical kitchen standards.
Suspensions due to significant incidents affected 17 SPPGs in Sumatra (Region I), 27 in Java (Region II), and 28 in eastern regions (Region III).
Meanwhile, non-significant issues affected 198 SPPGs in Region I, 464 in Region II, and 30 in Region III.
As of the latest data, 215 SPPGs in Region I, 491 in Region II, and 58 in Region III remain suspended.
