"Indonesia is committed to carrying out its mandate within the UNIFIL mission in accordance with Resolution 1701 (2006), by continuously conducting regular assessments of the situation on the ground," Nabyl said.
He said Indonesia continues to coordinate with the UN and troop-contributing countries to strengthen personnel protection.
The government is also closely monitoring the security situation in Lebanon, including its implications for Indonesia's participation in the UNIFIL mission.
Furthermore, Indonesia has requested the UN to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the safety aspects of peacekeepers, both in UNIFIL and other UN missions.
"Along with fellow troop-contributing countries, Indonesia encourages the UN Security Council to take concrete steps to strengthen the protection of peacekeepers," he emphasized.
Earlier, the Foreign Affairs Ministry stated that changes related to the participation of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) personnel in UNIFIL must be carefully considered.
The ministry’s spokesperson Yvonne Mewengkang said that Indonesia's participation in UNIFIL is part of its international commitment to world peace.
"Various decisions related to this issue, including the proposed withdrawal, must be carefully considered, considering personnel safety, the relevance of UNIFIL's mandate, and Indonesia's contribution to regional stability," she noted.
Indonesia has lost three TNI personnel and eight others injured in three separate attacks while on duty in Lebanon.
Recently, France also lost one soldier and three others injured in an attack on UNIFIL on April 18.
