Do not leave your Hajj card behind, because it is like a second lifeline for pilgrims,Jakarta (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabian Hajj Pilgrimage Officials (PPIH) urged Indonesian pilgrims who have arrived in Medina to always carry their Hajj cards when traveling or leaving their hotels.
"Always bring your Hajj cards when traveling," spokesperson for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Maria Assegaf said in a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
She explained that it was official access and the pilgrims must wear it during in the Holy Land. Anyone who does not carry or possess Hajj card will be denied entry to certain areas, particularly in Mecca.
Therefore, they must use it at all times wherever they go.
The barcode on the card contains personal data and accommodation details, allowing officials to easily identify pilgrims and assist them if they encounter any problems, including directing them to their group or escorting them back to their hotel.
“Do not leave your Hajj card behind, because it is like a second lifeline for pilgrims,” she said.
The Hajj card is a digital identity card that must be used by pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia. It is issued and activated by government-appointed Hajj service providers.
The card distinguishes between authorized and unauthorized pilgrims and includes key information such as the pilgrim’s name, photo, place and date of birth, accommodation location, and other essential data.
In addition to serving as identification, the Hajj card is also a primary requirement for accessing key locations and services, including Mecca and the Grand Mosque. The Hajj card is a mandatory component of a pilgrim’s Hajj visa.
