This was highlighted by Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti during the commemoration ceremony of the National Education Day in Banyuwangi District, East Java, on Saturday.
"As the popular adage goes: To advance a nation, one must improve its education; and to improve education, one must start in the classroom. Deep learning is the effort intended to achieve the ideal goals of national education,” he asserted in a statement.
To support this implementation, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has established several strategic policies. One of these is the School Revitalization and Learning Digitalization programs, which are also part of the quick-win programs of President Prabowo Subianto's administration.
Mu'ti affirmed that these programs have already delivered a tangible impact on the education sector. In 2025, the revitalization program reached 16,167 schools.
Meanwhile, under the Learning Digitalization initiative, the government has distributed interactive flat panels (IFPs) to more than 288,000 schools.
The ministry is also continuing to promote character building by creating safe and comfortable school environments. This includes promoting the Asri (Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful) movement, ensuring that schools serve as a second home for all students.
Furthermore, he noted that the quality of learning is being bolstered through the strengthening of literacy, numeracy, Academic Proficiency Tests (TKA), as well as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
"These efforts are accompanied by expanding access to more convenient, affordable, and flexible educational services through various schemes, such as integrated schools, distance learning, learning communities, and open schools,” Mu’ti expounded.
In closing, he called on all parties to strengthen collaboration. “Let us work together to realize quality education for all, toward an intelligent, advanced, and dignified Indonesia,” he said.
