Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - Bali's Denpasar Immigration Office is investigating three foreign nationals suspected of prostitution after being identified through cyber surveillance.

"We do not tolerate abuse of stay permits, including violating Indonesian law and norms," the head of Denpasar Immigration R Haryo Sakti noted on Monday.

He explained the three female foreign nationals are Russian nationals with the initials ED and AR and one Nigerian national with the initials EJN.

The three women aged between 21 and 27 are currently being held at the Denpasar Immigration Office for further questioning regarding the illegal practice.

Sakti explained that they were arrested from different locations with EJN and ED apprehended at a villa in the Mengwi area of Badung District.

According to him, they hold visitor stay permits where EJN entered Indonesia through Soekarno Hatta International Airport on March 21 2026.

The head of immigration noted that ED entered the country through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on March 10 2026.

Meanwhile AR also holds a visitor residence permit and is known to have entered Indonesia on April 22 2026 before being arrested at a hotel in Renon area of Denpasar.

"AR was arrested in a hotel room with a man after their identities were confirmed through the immigration data system," Sakti outlined.

He emphasized that foreign nationals must comply with Indonesian laws and contribute positively to tourist destinations.

"Although Indonesia provides easy immigration services to foreign nationals, this does not mean they can break the law," he pointed out.

While intelligence and enforcement officers are examining the suspects, Sakti said the three women are at high risk of being deported from Indonesia.

Furthermore they may also face entry restrictions to Indonesia under Law Number 6 of 2011 on immigration.

Such deterrence can be imposed for a minimum of six months and is determined by the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta.
