He said the country’s archipelagic geography remains one of the primary challenges in ensuring quality education for all citizens.
“With regard to children living in 3T areas, we realize they are not reached by formal education services. Therefore, we aim to strengthen non-formal and informal education to equip them,” Minister Mu’ti said on Monday.
Regarding efforts to improve access to formal education the ministry is ready to develop One-Roof Schools which integrate multiple levels of education within a single complex.
He noted that the ministry has been intensifying the implementation of the Distance Learning Program which already involves 20 provincial governments in collaboration.
In relation to the distance learning program he said the ministry’s support also includes strengthening the digital learning ecosystem for students in remote areas.
Mu’ti explained that the ministry is ready to provide Starlink internet services to learning communities that wish to organize distance learning programs.
“We can develop distance learning, which currently involves 20 provincial governments to support the program. We also assist by providing Starlink internet access, learning communities, and main schools that oversee the distance learning program,” he said.
The minister added that the government continues to strengthen the implementation of equivalency education programs including Package A and Package B as well as Package C.
“Through these efforts, we are creating inclusive and equitable education programs, and the pathways are already in place,” Mu’ti said regarding the initiatives.
