Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Agriculture stated that the processed dairy product export to Vietnam serves as clear evidence of the global competitiveness of Indonesia's livestock sector, while also driving value-added growth and expanding export access.

"This is tangible proof that Indonesian dairy products are becoming increasingly competitive in the global market," the ministry's Director of Veterinary Public Health, I Ketut Wirata, said in a statement received on Wednesday.

Speaking during the export send-off for PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy’s processed products in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday, he emphasized that exporting dairy products to Vietnam is a strategic step toward strengthening the position of farmers and business players.

He noted that the export ensures the absorption of domestic fresh milk, thereby helping to maintain price stability for farmers.

For industry players, he added, the achievement proves that Indonesia’s dairy sector can compete on the global stage. The export success further reflects the rising competitiveness of Indonesian dairy products.

"This is reflected in our export performance, which has shown a steady upward trend over the past few years," he said.

Furthermore, cumulative data on veterinary certificates issued between 2023 and 2026 show that total national product exports have exceeded 11.9 million kilograms, with a total value reaching US$15.3 million.

Over the last three years, export growth has also expanded to various markets, including Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Thailand, with the Philippines emerging as the largest destination market.

According to Wirata, this achievement demonstrates consistent growth while strengthening Indonesia’s position as an increasingly prominent exporter of processed dairy products in Asia.

Tuesday's export send-off marked the inaugural export of Indonesian yogurt to Vietnam with a value of US$65,000.

He emphasized that export success is determined not only by production capacity but also by compliance with global standards, particularly in food safety and animal health.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture ensures quality assurance through veterinary supervision, certification processes, and harmonization of standards with destination countries.

On the same occasion, Dairy Manufacturing Director of PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy, Bayu Triprasetyo, said that government support is a key factor in maintaining quality consistency and facilitating exports, including to the increasingly promising Vietnamese market.
