BGN and BPOM formalized the collaboration by signing an agreement document, following a memorandum of understanding inked on January 23, 2025, shortly after the program’s launch earlier that month.
In a statement cited here on Thursday, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana explained that the cooperation agreement serves as a guideline for both institutions in carrying out their duties related to the MBG program.
He stated that the partnership aims “to strengthen commitment and synergy in supporting food safety in the MBG program,” which he described as a key initiative to produce a generation of healthy, high-quality talents capable of advancing Indonesia by its centennial year, 2045.
The government has placed food safety as a top priority in rolling out the MBG program, he said, assuring the public that all meals undergo stringent supervision and testing before reaching recipients to prevent health issues.
He added that alongside BPOM, his agency will comprehensively strengthen MBG monitoring systems across all processes.
“This synergy is important to push monitoring beyond administrative routine, ensuring it is based on lab tests and measurable food safety standards,” Hindayana affirmed.
BGN elaborated that the cooperation agreement lays a foundation for the two agencies to jointly arrange analytic methods for food testing, conduct monitoring and tests, and follow up on the results.
Both sides, he continued, have also agreed to optimize human resources, facilities, and infrastructure while remaining open to cooperation across broader fields.
He also stressed that all collaborative efforts will proceed according to applicable regulations.
