Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is collaborating with the National Economic Council (DEN) to accelerate the implementation of digital social assistance distribution.

"With the digitalization of social assistance, as the President hopes, our social assistance distribution will be right on target, reaching those who deserve it," said Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, here on Thursday.

The digitalization of social assistance distribution, he said, aims to ensure that social assistance is more targeted.

"I think this is the most important thing, where everything starts with honesty and open data," said the minister.

He said Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 4 of 2025 concerning the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN), which was then followed up with the digitalization of social assistance distribution, and supported by DEN, is expected to immediately provide more accurate data on poverty.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Economic Council, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that in developing the digitalization of social assistance distribution, DEN is supported by artificial intelligence technology.

"We're supported by AI. And the software was created by our people. I formed a small team to create it, and it turned out to work," said the chairman.

The digitalization of social assistance has currently begun to be implemented in 42 districts in Indonesia.

DEN continues to evaluate and correct deficiencies in the digital distribution of social assistance.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to review the implementation of social assistance digitalization in Banyuwangi, Surabaya, and Bali.

"The President will inspect several locations. We've proposed visiting Banyuwangi, Surabaya, and Bali on June 8-9," he said.

"The President will also review the registration and personally check the objection periods using facial recognition, which we have implemented in Banyuwangi, and which has proven to be very accurate," he added.
