“The physical construction started around November 2025 until now, meaning about seven months. In that time, we operationalized 1,061 cooperatives,” Prabowo said in Nganjuk, East Java, on Saturday.
Prabowo said the village cooperatives were equipped with buildings, warehouses, digital systems, logistics facilities and transport vehicles, including trucks, pickup cars and three-wheeled units.
He added that the government had initially planned to inaugurate around 1,300 cooperatives before revising the figure to 1,061 following input from Agrinas Pangan Nusantara President Director Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota.
Prabowo also cited a report from Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan stating that more than 9,000 cooperative buildings, warehouses and systems were physically ready.
“More than 9,000 buildings, warehouses and systems have been completed successfully. I believe this is an achievement for the Indonesian nation,” he said.
The inauguration forms part of the government’s efforts to strengthen village-based economic development and improve rural self-reliance.
Of the total cooperatives launched, 530 are located across seven regencies in East Java, while 531 units operate across eight districts and cities in Central Java. Each cooperative employs 17 local workers.
The government, through state-owned Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, is also developing another 25,000 cooperative units as of May 2026 and aims to fully operate 30,000 KDKMP units by August 2026.
