The event also marked the groundbreaking of 10 Polri food security warehouses and the inauguration of 166 Polri Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPGs) across various regions.
“I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, hereby inaugurate the groundbreaking of 10 Polri food security warehouses, the operation of 166 Polri SPPG units, and the nationwide corn harvest fostered by the National Police,” Prabowo said before pressing a ceremonial siren button on stage.
During the ceremony, the president pressed the siren together with three farmers representing farmer groups in Tuban, National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, and Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman.
After the ceremony, Prabowo tested a combine corn harvester used to support corn harvesting operations. The machine is capable of harvesting 0.4 hectares per hour.
From atop the tractor, the president also took part in harvesting corn on plantations assisted by Polri.
As part of the event, Prabowo reviewed several innovations in corn plantation management, including the use of coal-based fertilizer, hybrid corn seeds, and the processing of corn cobs into briquettes.
The president also listened to a report from the National Police chief regarding the second-quarter 2026 corn harvest on Polri-assisted agricultural land.
The nationwide harvest event involved 36 regional police offices, covering a total plantation area of 189,760.36 hectares. Of that figure, 1,608.76 hectares were harvested simultaneously on Saturday.
