Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko said the figure had exceeded the target of issuing 1,000 Golden Visas since the program was launched in July 2024.
"Besides showing growing global confidence in Indonesia, this policy has delivered tangible benefits to the national economy," he said at a Golden Visa outreach event in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said most Golden Visas were issued to foreign nationals and members of the Indonesian diaspora from the United States, followed by China, Taiwan, Australia, Russia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea.
Marantoko said the investment came from various categories of Golden Visa holders, including corporate investors, individual investors, second-home visa holders, former Indonesian citizens, descendants of former Indonesian citizens, and corporations.
He added that the program had also generated more than Rp16.3 billion in non-tax state revenue (PNBP).
"This shows that the Golden Visa policy not only supports investment facilitation but also directly contributes to state revenue," he said.
The Golden Visa is a residence permit facility allowing foreign nationals to stay in Indonesia for five to 10 years.
According to Marantoko, the policy reflects the government's commitment to attracting quality investment, encouraging knowledge transfer, creating jobs, and strengthening Indonesia's global competitiveness.
He said the Golden Visa was designed under a selective policy approach prioritizing national security, economic benefits, and sustainable development.
"Therefore, the Directorate General of Immigration continues to strengthen Golden Visa governance to ensure professional, accountable, and investment-oriented services," he said.
Marantoko said the success of the Golden Visa program required cooperation among ministries, institutions, regional governments, business actors, associations, and the international community.
He added that the Directorate General of Immigration would continue providing modern and responsive immigration services to support investment and ease of doing business.
