Speaking at the 2026 officer commissioning ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, Prabowo urged the 1,177 graduates of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and National Police (Polri) to prepare for an increasingly complex global security landscape.
"The world is changing very rapidly, and competition among nations is becoming increasingly intense," Prabowo told the newly appointed officers.
"Threats no longer come only from weapons. Threats come through cyber warfare, information warfare, narcotics, smuggling, transnational crime, and efforts to weaken the nation through cultural infiltration."
Prabowo emphasized that building strategic national resilience requires self-reliance across critical sectors—including food, energy, technology, and the defense industry.
He instructed the young officers, who represent the front line of future defense, to equip themselves with modern skill sets, including AI, cyber defense, autonomous systems, and foreign languages.
"Master science and technology, AI, cyber systems, unmanned technology, and foreign languages," the President said, while stressing that strong discipline and ethical leadership must remain the core values of the security forces as they adapt to shifting geopolitical challenges.
