Qodari said the government is targeting 119,379 household gas connections during the 2025-2026 period across 15 districts and cities.
"The target has increased from 115,264 household connections following the addition of 1,765 connections in Jambi City, 2,000 in Bontang City, and 350 in Gresik District," he said during a press conference on the Quick Win Programme at the Bakom Office in Jakarta.
A data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as of Aug. 3, 2026, showed the construction of 119,379 household gas connections had entered the completion stage.

The government has also begun the first phase of household gas network development in Cirebon District, targeting 41,043 household connections. The project covers the sub-districts of Gempol, Palimanan, Dukupuntang, and Depok.
According to Qodari, the project, which runs from May 20 to Dec. 31, 2026, is in its initial stage, including route surveys, site selection for gas regulating and metering stations, and registration of prospective customers.
As of the end of 2025, Indonesia had completed 949,008 household gas connections nationwide, comprising 703,308 funded through the state budget and 245,700 financed through non-state budget sources.
To accelerate the service expansion, the government plans to build 959,232 additional household gas connections during the 2026-2028 period across eight districts and cities.
The target includes 182,665 household connections in Bogor District; 156,134 in Depok City; 120,691 in Bekasi District; 117,142 in Cirebon District; 101,295 in Lamongan District; 100,247 in Tangerang District; 93,772 in Pasuruan District; and 87,286 in Jombang District.

Qodari explained the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering Design and Construction (DEDC) documents had been completed and the projects were entering the implementation preparation stage.
"With that, household gas network development during the 2025-2028 period is targeted to reach 1,119,654 household connections," he said.
To support the target, the government has prepared three financing schemes, namely the state budget, public-private partnerships (PPP), and investment by state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
In 2025, the government financed the construction of 100,000 household gas connections through SOE investment. In 2026, it targets 150,000 connections through the state budget, 50,000 through PPP schemes, and 100,000 through SOE investment.
For 2027, 2028, and 2029, the government aims to build 350,000 household gas connections annually, comprising 150,000 through the state budget, 100,000 through PPP schemes, and 100,000 through SOE investment.

Overall, the government projects the construction of 1.45 million household gas connections during the 2025-2029 period, comprising 600,000 funded through the state budget, 350,000 through PPP schemes, and 500,000 through SOE investment.
Qodari said the construction costs are estimated at around Rp10 million per household connection, although the final amount will depend on technical planning, site conditions, project locations, and procurement results.
He also assured that domestic gas supplies are sufficient to support the accelerated expansion of household gas networks, noting that around 70-75 percent of Indonesia's natural gas production is allocated to domestic demand.
"The government continues to ensure supply readiness based on available gas resources and allocations, customer demand volumes and profiles, supply continuity throughout the operational period, and the readiness of transmission and distribution networks," Qodari said.
