Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have summoned three East Jakarta immigration officers for questioning in connection with the finding that tax evasion and corruption defendant Gayus Tambunan had made foreign trips with a forged passport, a spokesman said.

"We have summoned three immigration officers for questioning related to the passport used by Gayus to make overseas trips. The summonses were sent two days ago," said Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar, the police spokesman, said here Thursday.

The three immigration officers were Melanie , a staffer at the East Jakarta Immigration Office, M. Kacung, the cross-check section head of the same office, and Zulkifli, another immigration officer , Boy said here Thursday.

"So far, only Melani has come and is being investigated and I hope the other two officers will come soon," he said.

The investigation on the three immigration officers, Boy said, was based on information obtained by the Palice`s Criminal Investigation Department and the Immigration Office.

Gayus is known to have visited Macau on September 22 to 24, Kuala Lumpur on September 30 and Singapore on October 2, 2010 with a false passport while he was supposed to be in jail.

The police had found out that the passport on behalf of Sony Laksono was actually reserved for Margareta, a five year old girl. Gayus had confessed d he had obtained the passport from a broker. (*)
