"The president will have teleconference with the governors of South Sulawesi, North Sumatra and East Kalimantan provinces as well as with the National Reliable Fishermen Organization (KTNA)," Agus Sumantri, chief public relations officer of the South Sulawesi government said here on Thursday.
He said that South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo will have the teleconference at the PT Telkom Makassar`s Hall at 11 am local time.
Limpo was scheduled to arrive in Makassar on Friday after his working visit to Taiwan and China where he conducted a comparative study on rice processing and electricity energy.
South Sulawesi is one of the country`s national rice producing hubs with a surplus of about two million tons since 2009. It has been contributing to the rice stocks of other provinces in eastern Indonesia.
Chief Welfare Minister Agung Laksono during the handing over of rice for the poor in four districts in South Sulawesi on Tuesday expressed concern over the upward trend in food prices due to bad climate condition.
He said that the conditions could hamper the government`s efforts to cut the poverty rate in the country.
