I strongly condemn this outrageousWashington (ANTARA News/AFP) - US President Barack Obama condemned the "outrageous" suicide attack on Moscow`s busiest airport Monday that left 35 people dead and dozens wounded.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the United States stands "ready to help" Russia with any assistance it may need following the latest deadly attack to hit the Russian capital after bombings on the metro in March.
"I strongly condemn this outrageous" act, Obama said, quoted by Gibbs.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed her "very strong condemnation" of the "terrorist attack" as she offered sympathy to the families of the victims.
"We stand with Russia in this moment of sorrow and grief," Clinton said during a visit to Guanajuato, Mexico.
"We offer both our condolences and our very strong solidarity as they continue to struggle (with) what many of us face, combating and eliminating this international threat."
Scenes of carnage unfolded at Domodedovo airport in southern Moscow as corpses were stretchered out of the arrivals area after the blast.
Describing the attack as an act of terror, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev chaired an emergency meeting of transport and security officials and increased security across the country`s main airports and railway stations. (*)
