Samsuddin R.Ishak, the group`director, said he had decided to stage the play after holding a series of reviews of the script.
"Initially, we wanted to stage the play in its original version and against a European back drop," Samsuddin said.
But eventually it was felt that the script would be more alive on stage when it was presented in the local dialect.
"In fact we decided to use three local dialects which are Kaidipang (North Sulawesi), Luwuk (Central Sulawesi) and Gorontalo," he said.
According to plans, the romantic but humoristic drama would be staged at schools in Gorontalo in March 2011.
"Now we are still in the process of reading the manuscript and adjustment of each actor`s dialects," Samsuddin said.
Pinangan tells about an old bachelor who wants to propose marriage to a neighbor. In the proposing process, there is foolishness, unexpected silliness, before finally ending with happiness.
