"The grand design of population growth in the country is expected to be completed this year," Agung said after opening a national working meeting on family planning and population development at the national population and family planning office here.
The minister on the occasion said the grand design of population development was at present still at the preparation stage.
"We are still putting it together while listening to input from various other sectors for the completion of the grand design," Agung said.
According to the minister, the arrangement of the grand design involved cross-sectoral ministries and institutions.
"Each ministry and institution involved in the arrangement of the design will later be united to find out the way how to control population growth," Agung said.
The minister also called for a seriousness of related ministries and institutions which cared about population problem.
Meanwhile, head of the national population and family planning board Syugiri Syarief explained that the grand design could be used later as guidelines in overcoming and accommodating population problem.
The aspects to be accommodated in the design, according to him, were among others the quantity, quality, family development, and population mobility and administration.
