Semarang, C Java (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested another suspect for allegedly receiving bribes for the selection of Miranda Goeltom as central bank deputy governor in 2004.

KPK spokesman Johan Budi here on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of former legislator Willem Tutuarima from the Indonesia Democratic Party - Struggle (PDIP) in Semarang, Central Java.

"KPK investigators arrested Willem while he was at his house in Semarang and they immediately brought him to Jakarta by plane," he said.

Johan said Willem was arrested because he had failed to meet the first summons.

"He was arrested without a second summons because he has already been named a suspect and based on the KPK investigators` conclusion he was fit to undergone questioning," he said.

KPK earlier detained another politician from PDIP namely Budhiningsih at Pondok Bambu Penitentiary over the same case.

Willem and Budhiningsih are two of the five former legislators who failed to meet the summons for KPK questioning last Friday when 19 other politicians were arrested over the case.(*)
