A report had it that an Indonesian citizen, identified as Imanda Amalia (28), had been killed in Egypt. The report was posted on "Science of Universe" facebook account.

The ministry called on the Indonesian citizens in Egypt to avoid crowds of people.

Tens of thousands of protesters have flooded the streets of Cairo over the past few days demanding that President Hosni Mubarak step down after 30 years of rule.

The Indonesian government decided on Monday to evacuate more than 6,000 Indonesian citizens from Egypt following the worsening of political tension and social unrest in the North African country.

At a cabinet meeting on Monday, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono also ordered the formation of an evacuation task force consisting of personnel from the Health Ministry and Transportation Ministry.
