"The target is far higher than the production in 2010 which was only 324,000 tons," Head of Bali`s Maritime and Fishery Service, I Gusti Putu Nuriatha said here on Sunday.
He said that the regional government however expected that Bali would be able to achieve the target. For this, it would encourage farmers to take part in the freshwater fish culture.
It will also encourage the development of sea fish cultivation, including the development of seaweeds, he said.
Gusti Putu Nuritha said that Bali was determined to raise its fishery production annually to reach 353 percent in 2014 based on the target of the Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries.(*)
