Mamuju, West Sulawesi (ANTARA News)- Some 10,343 doctors in Indonesia followed training in fixing family planning contraceptives in the form of implants and Intra Uterine Devices (IUD) to curb population growth.

Head of the Population and National Planned Parenthood Agency (BKKBN) DR, Dr Sugiri Syarif, said at a regional population and family plannning working meeting here on Thursday that besides the doctors, 35,000 fields covering all of Indonesia are also taught.

He said to support the planned parenthood program the government also provided the contraceptives and family planning service facilities.

He said the program also include programs of giving births to lower mothers death rate.(*)
