Denpasar (ANTARA News) - Bali province`s textile and textile product exports last year rose 3.6 percent to US$119.13 million from US$114.9 million a year earlier.

The textile and textile product exports played a very strategic role as they contributed a lot to the province`s non-oil/non gas exports, I Ketut Teneng, head of the publication and documentation section of the Bali provincial administration`s public relations service bureau, said here on Friday.

Bali earned US$519.9 million from non-oil/non-gas exports last year, up 3.4 percent from US$502.5 million the year before.

He said the province`s textile and textile product exports had fluctuated since 2006 depending on demand in the foreign market. In 2006, textile and textile product exports stood at US$121.3 million. The figure rose 7.6 percent to US$130.6 million in 2007 and declined 1.24 percent to US$129 million in 2008.
